Show: Pal Joey (music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Lorenz Hart, book by John O'Hara, directed by George Abbott) is a show based on a series of short stories by John O'Hara, stories first published in The New Yorker. These extra songs give Joey (read Sinatra) the opportunity to sing numbers as part of his nightclub act that will be sure fire audience pleasers and, of course, Frank, using Nelson Riddle arrangements, delivers them splendidly.
